Allama Iqbal

In our short description page we can not write much about the Great Person. We would like to give a short introduction only.

Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot within the Punjab Province of British India (now in Pakistan). He was a poet, philosopher, and politician, as well as an academic, barrister and scholar in British India who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement.

Iqbal is regarded as the Shair-e-Mashriq (“Poet of the East”). He is also called Mufakkir-e-Pakistan (“The Thinker of Pakistan”), Musawar-e-Pakistan (“Artist of Pakistan”) and Hakeem-ul-Ummat (“The Sage of the Ummah”). The Pakistan government officially named him “National Poet of Pakistan”.
His two-nation theory was a founding principle of the Pakistan Movement.

Iqbal’s most poetic work is in Persian, he also wrote in Urdu and some books in English.
