Mohsin Naqvi

Syed Ghulam Abbas Naqvi, who changed his name to Syed Mohsin Naqvi, became a famous poet of Pakistan. Naqvi graduated from Government College Bosan Road in Multan and earned his masters degree from the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Naqvi published several books of poetry during his life time. He wrote about Love and Philosophy.

Naqvi penned a song titled “Lehron Ki Trha Tuhjy Bikharny Nahi Dain Gy” for Bazar-e-Husn (1988) for which he won National Film Award.

He was assassinated at his residence in Lahore on January 15, 1996. He was buried in his home town of Dera Ghazi Khan.
